Description

A choice shrub with hornbeam-like leaves that emerge with a slight purple flush and turn buttery yellow in autumn before falling. Masses of pendant clusters of pale yellow flowers hang on bare stems in winter.

The Latin species name of pauciflora translates to 'poor flower', something that can't be said to be true of either quality, or quantity.

An excellent alternative to a Forsythia , being typically smaller and of a more refined habit. Hardy and easy to grow preferring an acid soil and reasonable sunlight for the best show.
