We are looking for a nursery assistant to join a rapidly developing retail sales team. The successful candidate will be task and quality focused, being able to work independently and as part of the retail sales team. The Nursery assistant will work on a range of tasks including, plant selection, preparation, packing and dispatch. In addition an aptitude for display creation, plant care and customer service will be required.

The nursery assistant will be based at our Tonbridge site. The worked week is 40 hours, 8am to 5pm with scope for extra hours during peak periods. The successful candidate will be conscientious, adaptable to an ever-changing marketplace and flexible. An ability to respond to high peaks of seasonal demand is also essential.

While horticultural experience is desirable an interest in plants is essential.

Events Sales Assistant - POSITION FILLED

We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated person to manage our presence to manage our presence at a range of local and national horticultural and garden shows. We are ideally seeking to appoint a candidate who is creative and driven with strong sales and marketing skills. The events sales assistant will be a brand ambassador for Coblands and as such will need to display excellent customer relations and a professional appearance in the field.

The position involves the creation, install and maintenance of event structures. In the field the role is tasked to achieve sales expectations through the sale of quality plants from a respected brand.

The events sales assistant will be based at our Tonbridge site and the working week is Wednesday through Sunday. The successful candidate will be conscientious, adaptable to an ever-changing marketplace and flexible in approach.

The ideal candidate may be a recent sales and marketing graduate or a person with strong sales experience. While horticultural experience is not essential an interest in plants is desirable. The successful candidate should also have a full driving licence.

Coblands is an international horticultural grower, who has been serving wholesale to theDesign, Landscape, Municipal and Garden Centre market since 1963. Coblands lead themarket in the production of Herbaceous Perennials and are one of very few horticulturalgrowers that provide a complete plant sourcing service.

Coblands have been extremely influential in the design market over the last twentyyears, providing a wide range of eclectic plants to the green industry. It is Coblands’intention to grow our market leading position by identifying a key manager who will focussolely on the Garden and Landscape Design client. Coblands have the experience,infrastructure and growing expertise to meet the demands of this market.

This position will service new prospects and existing clients and manage salesexpectations and growth. In addition this role will provide unrivalled plant andhorticultural advice and introduce clients to new and novel varieties at the nursery. Thisposition will also contribute to the shaping the growing programme and representingCoblands at key industry events.

The successful candidate could be a Botanic Garden or Biological Sciences Graduate oran existing and experienced Garden Designer. Extensive plant knowledge is anessential requirement for this position and experience of sales would be advantageous.The successful candidate will possess good communication and organisational skills aswell as the ability to provide excellent customer service. They will have an open andfriendly personality with the ability to establish and develop rewarding relationships withclients.

We are seeking to appoint a conscientious and detail-orientated personwith a proven track record in administration to provide a highly professionaladministrative support service to the sales staff. This position will provide afirst point of contact for all client communication and will also assist withsales order fulfilment. In addition the role will service existing andprospective client accounts. Ensuring the smooth running of the salesoffice is another key feature of this role.
