Be water Wise with Coblands

 We would like to offer some tips for being water wise this Summer

  • Use plants that are tolerant of drier conditions
  • Always soak plants well before planting
  • Mix organic composts and swell gel into the soil to help improve structure and water retention
  • When planting in containers use a good tub and basket comport which contains water retaining granules
  • Use a ground cover material and top with a layer of bark mulch or compost to reduce water loss through evaporation
  • Hook up a water butt or barrel to the drain pipe from the bath, gardens can cope very well with grey water
  • Water the garden in the evening when it's cooler

Remember to seek advice from your local water authority on the regulations that apply in your area.
